The most significant change is the location of the Lidl store, which will now sit on south-east corner of the site. The size of the store has slightly reduced to 1,529 sq m (net sales) accommodate the change.
The store design has also been amended to include natural stone on the elevations, complementing the character of its surroundings.
Other changes include:
A much shorter route from Skircoat Road to the store entrance without crossing the car park. The ramped access from Skircoat Road close to the coffee shop remains as per the previous plans, with better connectivity to the store entrance
More car parking spaces for the Lidl store
Traffic lights are proposed to be introduced at the Skircoat Road/site access/Heath Road junction
Improved pedestrian connectivity between the Lidl store and coffee shop with a safe pedestrian route through the car park including crossings
A pedestrian refuge in the centre of the access road to the site
A new landscaped area along the Shaw Hill boundary with more new trees proposed
